Mashhad ist eine der Hauptprovenienzen für handgeknüpfte Orientteppich-Produktionen und somit fast jedem Teppichkenner ein Begriff. Bekannt sind die Teppiche für ihre besonders hochwertige Wolle, welche spürbar weicher ist als andere Wolle und ihre großen Maße.
