Brand new for the 2022 hockey season are the Bauer Vapor 3X Pro Intermediate Hockey Shoulder Pads from Bauer Hockey. Bauer has designed their newest pads to offer elite level protection in the lightest option at this price point.
Starting off with the front of the Vapor 3X Pro Shoulder Pads, the Ventaprene vest is made to flex with your body, and it allows you the ultimate freedom of mobility while staying very lightweight, giving you the ability to be as fast as possible on the ice. Bauer has also included a HYPERLITE HD floating sternum protector. This gives elite protection from big hits in this crucial area.
The Venataprene vest continues around the back of the Vapor 3X Pro Shoulder Pads to help further your mobility in the pads. Integrated into the vest is a rib wrap to protect you all around while staying breathable. One of the most crucial areas to protect is the spine, and Bauer has included an HD HYPERLITE floating spine protector to reinforce and protect this area.
On the shoulders you will find Aerolite 2.0 Shoulder Caps that will help absorb impacts from collisions like bumping into the boards or into other players. Around on the bicep is an adjustable one-piece bicep guard that includes molded PE foams. For the liner, Bauer is using the THERMOMAX+ liner. This liner is treated to manage sweat while providing a fresh feel all game long. Additionally, it will help to keep you cool as you skate.

Color is awesome but material isn’t.

The color is pretty much as advertised. I wear a 33 so I order up a size and they were both too long and too big. Instead of returning them I washed them and put them in the dryer. The length after washing turned out perfect but the waist is still a little too big. It should also be noted that the quality of the material isn’t the best. After washing them this is how the pockets will look. You have to iron them each time to get them flat again. I would buy again because of the variety of colors but only at a cheaper price.
