This Gitzo 50mm Big Foot is designed for Gitzo Tripods or Monopods that connect to an existing foot using a 3/8"-16 accessory thread. It features a 50mm-wide rubber pad that forms a ball-and-socket joint with a steel 3/8"-16 mount that screws into the bottom of a compatible tripod or monopod leg.
When the Gitzo 50mm Big Foot is used, the ball-and-socket joint allows the rubber pad to tilt so that it maintains complete contact with a flat surface regardless of the angle position of a connected tripod or monopod leg. By maximizing contact with the surface on which it rests, the ability of a tripod or monopod leg to help provide a stable platform for a camera, sport optic, or accessory is enhanced.
