NATIONAL BESTSELLER - A fascinating, first-of-its-kind exploration of Stephen King and his most iconic early books, based on groundbreaking research and interviews with King--all conducted by the first scholar to be given extended access to his private archives

"A treat for fans of Stephen King."--Paul Tremblay
"A master class in craft--and a peek behind the curtain."--Stephen Graham Jones
"Illuminating and original."--Amy Tan
"It will be treasured by admirers of King's novels and is a must read for anyone curious about how great books get written."--James Shapiro, Professor of English, Columbia University

A NEW YORK POST AND LIT HUB MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK OF THE YEAR

After Caroline Bicks was named the University of Maineʼs inaugural Stephen E. King Chair in Literature, she became the first scholar to be granted extended access by King to his private archives, a treasure trove of manuscripts that document the legendary writerʼs creative process--most of them never before studied or published. The year she spent exploring King's early drafts and hand-written revisions was guided by one question millions of Kingʼs enthralled and terrified readers (including her) have asked themselves: What makes Stephen King's writing stick in our heads and haunt us long after we've closed the book?

Bicks focuses on five of his most iconic early works--The Shining, Carrie, Pet Sematary, ʼSalemʼs Lot, and Night Shift--to reveal how he crafted his language, story lines, and characters to cast his enduring literary spells. While tracking King's margin notes and editorial changes, she discovered scenes and alternative endings that never made it to print but that King is allowing her to publish now. The book also includes interviews Bicks had with King along the way that reveal new insights into his writing process and personal history.

Part literary master class, part biography, part memoir and investigation into our deepest anxieties, Monsters in the Archives--authorized by Stephen King himself--is unlike anything ever published about the master of horror. It chronicles what Bicks found when she set out to unearth how King crafted some of his scariest, most iconic moments. But it's also a story about a grown-up English professor facing her childhood fears and getting to know the man whose monsters helped unleash them.

Nice Patek Phillip replica!
Color: Rose gold, Color: Rose gold
Nice watch! Doesn't look cheap. Casual and office wear, both ok. Removing links was easy. Decent size, good on my wrist. These days smaller watches are in trend and it does fit the requirement. Color is fancy. In low light conditions it does get darker hues and it looks even better to me.

Packaging is most disappointing
Color: Black
Giving a 3-star at the moment because I just received the watch and usually comment on a new collection addition after about a week. •biggest turn off and cause for 3 star upon receipt is because of packaging. The main box seemed already used and returned or carelessly handled & very basic. How it's advertised & described as well as the image seller portrays of the product, the packaging fails at "luxury" depiction. •Link removal tool is very basic but this was a $23.00 watch. Because I am a collector I knew to pay attention to how pins are removed and had no problems removing the 4 links required to meet my desired size. •A few reviews said it's heavy and I'm used to pretty heavy + 44-48mm bezels so to my standards, I wouldn't 100% say it feels cheap(i mean c'mon it is so can't be too judgemental) but it slightly does feel "toyish" •Bracelet out the package even with plastic all over, came with two dot sized blemishes i keep focusing on and upset at. •Many reviews said after two hours, the time isn't accurate; thus far, time is fine •A few reviews said the double clasp is weak. 1 time it did loose but after removing links, ive done a lot of shaking and wrist action to test the clasps and nothing so far to match others experience •It has a nice appearance, can pass for business and casual •For a $26.00 watch after taxes I'm not disappointed as of yet besides the blemishes and packaging but will revisit in a week or so. •I read that the date doesn't keep accurately so I will update review after a trial period • I will say, if you dress correctly with this piece, I feel it has potential to draw attention from it's design

All time favorite watch
This watch is amazing for the price. I have had mine for 5 years or so and I wear it regularly. It's very comfortable resin strap. The design of the face is I think stunningly beautiful. Yes that is a bit strong for a $25 watch but the way the globe pops out, the legibility on par with a high priced dive watch and the funcationality of a timer, stop watch, world time and a data bank you will never use, but still.. cool watch!

Handy
Very easy for old eyes to read, can even see the date if light is good. Light weight for a largish watch. Seems rugged enough for me and the price is right for a beater watch.
