"The colour is deep yellow. This is a big, full-flavoured style with some toasty oak evident, along with notes of lemongrass, cashews, melon, peach and apricot kernel. This is more forward in style than some, but the texture is supple and appealing. A wine of medium length with a gentle fade, this is for drinking over the next year or two" Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot
Enticing aromas of golden peach, pineapple, vanillin oak and a touch of caramel lead into a generous palate with excellent weight and a creamy mouthfeel. Juicy acidity lifts the richness and buttery texture, making this wine both vibrant and effortlessly drinkable.
The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and preservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artifact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drinkability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don’t let the size fool you, these are wines you’ll want to drink.
South Australian regions experienced a very dry growing season for the 2024 vintage. Frost, the lack of rain and poor weather during flowering has resulted in lower yields, however, the dry and consistent weather during picking resulted in a vintage of high-quality fruit.
Sourced from vineyards located in the Adelaide Hills, fruit planted to warmer sites are combined with later ripening sites to deliver complex characters, freshness and with breadth of ripe fruit flavours. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed straight to oak where it was fermented on full solids with intermittent stirring and malolactic fermentation. This wine spent 7 months in varying French oak formats before bottling with minimal fining and filtration.
