VACUUM FILTRATION KIT:

The kit is vital to perform physical separations in any lab. The kit comes with:

  1. Filtration Flask: Flask Filter with Glass Connector, are made from a heavy wall that can withstand high vacuum. Comes without graduation and is printed in white colour enamel. Suitable for filtration when used in conjunction with a Buchner Filter Funnel or similar.
  2. Buchner Funnel: These porcelain Buchner funnels are essential in all labs for filtration purposes. These Buchners are resistant to acid & alkali and to speed up the filtration process, these funnels can be used with a filtering flask so that vacuum suction can be applied.
  3. Handheld Vacuum Pump with Gauze: This, value for money, plastic manual vacuum pump comes with a 550mm long tube and is perfect for the lab. The vacuum gauge has a range of 0-550mm Hg. It is widely used for siphoning, vacuum filtration, and fluid transport.
  4. Laboratory Filter Papers, Pack of 100: These grade 1 filter papers offer medium retention for qualitative analysis and general lab use. This High quality and lint-free filter papers come in a pack of 100. They are used to separate fine substances from liquids or air. It is used in science laboratories to remove solids from the liquids (clarifying liquids).

Alba Botanica is my favorite brand for sunscreen products and it checks all the boxes on my list: Excellent long lasting coverage, fine mist spray and easy coverage cream versions, great for my sensitive skin (no breakouts- I do NOT use it on my face though), the Hawaiian fragrance is pleasant, it’s reef safe (a big one for me as a snorkel/dive aficionado), and organic ingredients. The large size lasts 5 full days when on a boat all day in the Carribbean, and I only apply it twice (once in morning, and again midday.) I have fair skin, and I never burn. The spray version is, by nature of its aerosol capacity, a bit drying on the skin, but this is to be expected, and it creates a long lasting barrier. The cream version is a wonderful emollient, although not quite as long lasting. Best deal is only in the summer season at CostCo for a 2 pack... in my searches, Amazon has the best deal otherwise.
