Christina Keith is a multidisciplinary artist and educator who creates and teaches outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Christina’s painting process incorporates vintage maps and charts, which lie in-between layers of paint via an acrylic image transfer process. When not painting, Christina enjoys spending time teaching high school art courses and spending time with her husband Austin and daughter, Violet.
This piece is from Christina's October 2023 collection, Coastal Quietude. Within this series of 14 seascapes, Christina creates calm, peaceful scenes that mimic the meditative rhythm she finds within her painting process. These works include a combination of celestial charts and maps of the Atlantic Coast, inviting the viewer to momentarily get lost within a space remembered or imagined.
