The Rosewood by Nina Ottosson Dog Wobble Bowl is a slow feeder and treat puzzle in one — a Level 1 introductory game that turns ordinary mealtimes into a brain-engaging wobble challenge. Designed by Swedish pet behaviourist Nina Ottosson and distributed in the UK by Rosewood, the Wobble Bowl has a clear dome lid your dog can see the food through, and a weighted base that rocks and rolls when your dog nudges it, dropping kibble out through the side openings. A smarter, slower way to feed that fights boredom and helps fast eaters slow down.

Best used at mealtimes in place of a regular bowl, on a flat non-slip floor in the kitchen, hallway, or feeding area. Pour your dog's usual kibble into the base, snap on the clear lid, and let them nose and paw the bowl until the food starts to drop out the sides. The transparent lid lets your dog see the food inside — that visible reward is what keeps them working the puzzle. Use it for full meals to slow down fast eaters, or as an enrichment activity between walks.

Made from food-safe plastic that is BPA-, PVC- and phthalate-free. The two-piece design (base + lid) is easy to take apart and hand wash, with no small removable parts for your dog to lose. Always supervise your dog during use — the Wobble Bowl is a puzzle feeder, not a chew toy.

Key Features

  • Slow feeder and treat puzzle in one — turns mealtimes into an interactive wobble game
  • Level 1 introductory puzzle — perfect for dogs new to puzzle feeders or who eat too fast
  • Clear dome lid so your dog can see the food inside and stay motivated
  • Weighted base rocks and rolls when nudged, dropping kibble out of the side openings
  • Helps slow down fast eaters and turns picky eaters into more engaged feeders
  • BPA-, PVC- and phthalate-free food-safe plastic
  • Two-piece design is easy to take apart and hand wash
  • Suitable for dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes

How to Use

  • Fill: remove the stopper from the lid, pour your dog's usual kibble or dry treats into the base, then close the lid properly with the stopper back in place.
  • Shake (optional): for a first session, give the bowl a gentle shake to disperse the food across the base so your dog can see the pieces through the clear lid.
  • Play: place the Wobble Bowl on a flat, non-slip floor and let your dog wobble it back and forth with their nose or paws until the food falls out of the side openings.
  • Demonstrate: show your dog how it works the first time — a quick wobble yourself with your hand usually does the trick.
  • Make it harder (optional): place a small piece of tape over a couple of the side openings to slow the food release further and extend the challenge.
  • Clean: remove the lid and any leftover food, hand wash both pieces with warm soapy water, rinse clean, and dry before refilling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Wobble Bowl a slow feeder or a puzzle game?
It is both. The Wobble Bowl is designed as a "Puzzle and Feeder in one" — it works as a slow feeder by dropping kibble out gradually as your dog wobbles the bowl, and it works as a treat puzzle by hiding smaller treats inside for your dog to release through play. Most owners use it at mealtimes as a slow feeder, and fill it with treats between meals as a brain game.

Will the Wobble Bowl help a dog that eats too fast?
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons people buy a Wobble Bowl. Fast eaters tend to gulp their food in seconds, which can cause bloating, regurgitation, and discomfort. The Wobble Bowl forces your dog to work for each piece of kibble, which dramatically slows eating and keeps them engaged at the bowl for several minutes rather than seconds.

What difficulty level is the Wobble Bowl?
The Wobble Bowl is rated Level 1 (introductory) on the Nina Ottosson difficulty scale. It is one of the easiest puzzle feeders in the range and a good choice for dogs that are new to puzzle games, puppies, or older dogs. Once your dog has mastered the Wobble Bowl, you can step up to Level 2 puzzles such as the Dog Smart and then Level 3 puzzles such as the Dog Worker.

Can I use wet food in the Wobble Bowl?
It is designed for dry kibble and dry treats. Wet food, pâté, and raw food can be used, but they will smear against the clear lid and side openings, which is messier and harder to clean. For a long-lasting wet-food challenge, mix the wet food with kibble to slow the release, or freeze a thin layer of wet food inside the bowl and let your dog lick it out as it thaws.

Is the Wobble Bowl safe for unsupervised use?
No. Like all Nina Ottosson puzzle games, the Wobble Bowl is designed for supervised play and mealtimes. It is not a chew toy. Always inspect the bowl for damage before use, supervise your dog, and store the Wobble Bowl out of reach between sessions. Keep out of reach of children.

How do I clean the Wobble Bowl?
The two-piece design is easy to take apart — just remove the lid from the base, tip out any leftover food, and hand wash both pieces with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly, dry, and refill. The plastic is food-safe and BPA-free, but it is not designed for dishwasher use as high temperatures can warp the lid over time.

Best for all chewers!
Color: Purple, Color: Purple
I purchased in February and waited until ive had them long enough to make a justified review. I have a very VERY aggressive chewer. He destroys every toy he gets within minutes or a hour. We didnt expect much out of these but why not. Let me tell you... they only have small teeth dents. No cracks, no breaks, no chunks missing, none in the trash, no bleeding gums... nothing. My chewer loves them. First day he just stared at them like they were alien objects but after we played fetch a few times it was on!! Now all three dogs chewer on them. I would say im purchasing again but I dont know when that will be lol I highly recommend to anyone!! Photo is taken today 6/4/26

My pit bull loves them.
Color: Purple
I picked up the Frienhund Tough Dog Toys 3-pack for my large, heavy chewer, and overall I’m pretty impressed. Right out of the box, the toys feel solid and well-made—definitely more durable than your average chew toy. My dog usually destroys new toys within a day or two, but these have held up significantly longer, which is a big win. They also do a great job of keeping him occupied. The shapes and textures seem to keep his interest, and I’ve noticed less destructive chewing on furniture since introducing these. That alone makes them worth it. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that while they’re very tough, they’re not completely “indestructible” (despite the claim). After a couple of weeks of heavy use, there are some visible wear marks. Still, compared to most other toys we’ve tried, these last much longer. Overall, a great option for medium to large dogs that are aggressive chewers—durable, engaging, and a solid value for a 3-pack.

Great Toys for Chewers
Color: Purple
Love these dog toys, they are so well-made and keep my Golden Retriever busy for hours. The variety of sizes is nice too, they aren’t heavy at all, but they sure hold their shapes , even with the constant chewing. The price was very reasonable, too.

Great product
Color: Purple, Color: Purple
My dogs loved these toys. Durable and apparently very coveted as my puppers “argued” over who got each one. Kept them playing and chewing for hours. Giving only 4 stars instead because I Wish the size was bigger because I have found that sometimes I don’t see it and stepping on it is Absolutely NO FUN.
