OriginNative to Sumatra and other parts of Southeast Asia, inhabiting slow-moving rivers, streams, and peat swamps with dense vegetation.
FeedingOmnivorous but prefers live and frozen foods. Accepts small live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, mosquito larvae, and finely crushed high-quality flakes or micro-pellets. Feeding in groups encourages natural schooling behaviour.
Tank MatesBest kept with peaceful, similarly sized species. Ideal companions include small tetras, rasboras, dwarf gouramis, and other non-aggressive community fish. Avoid large or aggressive fish.
