The Red Line Pygmy Basslet is a beautifully colored and energetic reef fish, distinguished by its vivid pink to reddish body marked with a bright horizontal stripe running from the snout to the tail. OriginBelieved to originate from the Indo-Pacific region, this Pseudochromis species typically inhabits coral reefs and rocky slopes, sheltering among crevices and coral heads. Its exact distribution varies, as it represents a group of closely related regional variants.
FeedingA carnivorous species that thrives on a varied diet of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and quality frozen or pellet preparations. Feed once or twice daily for best coloration and vitality.
Tank MatesGenerally peaceful toward other community fish when housed in a suitably sized aquarium with ample hiding spaces. Avoid keeping with other dottybacks or very timid fish in smaller tanks, as territorial behavior may occur.
AggressionModerately territorial, especially toward similar species or fish of comparable size and shape. Providing rockwork, caves, and visual barriers helps reduce conflict and allows for natural territorial behavior.
