Victron Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable: Precision Control for VE.Bus BMS Systems

Seamless Integration with Victron Inverters and MPPT Charge Controllers

The Victron Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable provides a reliable, low-power solution for remotely switching compatible Victron inverters and chargers via the load output of an MPPT charge controller. Designed for use with VE.Bus BMS setups, this cable enables automated on/off control based on battery state-of-charge, helping to protect your battery bank from deep discharge without manual intervention.

Unlike generic remote switches, this cable uses an active pull-down logic to ensure a defined off state when the input is floating or below approximately 2V, drawing only ~30mA (short-circuit proof). This prevents unintended operation and enhances system safety in mobile, marine, and off-grid installations.

Engineered for Reliable Low-Voltage Control

With a maximum input and output voltage rating of 70V DC, the cable is suitable for a wide range of 12V, 24V, and 48V nominal systems. The non-inverting logic means the remote on/off state directly follows the control signal—no signal inversion, simplifying integration and troubleshooting.

The cable features a compact signal module encased in protective blue heat shrink, with clearly identified pin terminals for device connection and a single yellow wire for remote switch input. This robust construction resists moisture and vibration, making it ideal for harsh environments.

Key Features

  • Non-inverting logic for straightforward control—output state matches input signal
  • Active pull-down to switch off when input is floating or below ~2V, preventing accidental activation
  • Low current draw (~30mA, short-circuit proof) minimises parasitic load on the system
  • Wide voltage compatibility up to 70V DC, suitable for 12V, 24V, and 48V setups
  • Pre-terminated pin connectors for quick, secure installation without soldering
  • Durable heat-shrink encapsulation protects the logic module from moisture and mechanical stress

Compatibility and Applications

This cable is specifically designed for use with Victron VE.Bus BMS systems and is compatible with all Skylla-TG battery chargers (all models). It also supports legacy Battery Protect models BP40i, BP60i, and BP200i (discontinued). Typical applications include:

  • Automated inverter shutdown via MPPT load output to prevent battery over-discharge
  • Remote on/off control in caravans, motorhomes, and marine vessels
  • Integration into off-grid solar systems for energy management
  • Industrial backup power systems requiring remote switching

By using the load output of a Victron MPPT charge controller, you can programmatically disconnect the inverter when the battery voltage drops below a set threshold, preserving battery health and extending cycle life. This is particularly valuable in unattended installations where manual monitoring is impractical.

Installation and Usage Notes

Installation is straightforward: connect the device input terminals to the inverter's remote on/off port, and the yellow control wire to the MPPT load output or a manual switch. The non-inverting behaviour means a high signal (or closed switch) turns the inverter on, while a low signal (or open switch) turns it off. Always refer to the product manual for specific wiring diagrams and ensure all connections are secure.

Note: This cable is not suitable for direct connection to AC mains or high-voltage DC circuits. Maximum ratings must not be exceeded.

Why Choose the Victron Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable?

Victron Energy is known for robust, well-engineered power solutions. This cable is no exception—built to the same standards as their inverters and charge controllers, it ensures reliable communication between system components. Using a genuine Victron accessory reduces the risk of compatibility issues and signal interference that can occur with third-party alternatives.

Whether you're upgrading an existing off-grid system or building a new installation, this remote on/off cable offers a simple yet effective way to automate energy management and protect your investment.

Wow! Great Stuff!
Format: Hardcover
Before I read this book, I had just read the other recent Batman trade, "Life After Death" by Tony S. Daniel, and I was seriously disappointed. I really struggled to get through it. So the next night, I started to read this one, Batman vs Robin, and I couldn't put it down - I almost read the whole book in one sitting (if it wasn't late at night, I probably would have finished it). It just confirms, once again, what a great writer Grant Morrison is. In this trade, you get two main story arcs (with a nice "cameo" by Batwoman in one story) and the search for Batman really starts to develop, here. I enjoyed Volume 1, but IMO, this one is far superior.

It gets AWESOME. I highly recommend this
First volume is kind of a drag, but it gives backstory and character development for this volume 2. It gets AWESOME. I highly recommend this, it has mystery, action, and great art. Fun read and you MUST read the first volume.

Batman & Robin: Batman vs Robin
Format: Hardcover
First things first... This book will only make sense to you ONLY if you've been following Grant Morrison's complete run of Batman (including Final Crisis). If you haven't, most likely you won't like it or you'll get half the excitement this baby carries. I used to think I didn't like Frank Quiely's art, but after the psychedelic style he put on the first volume, I found myself missing him in this particular book. The art in the first 3 chapters (The Blackest Knight) is terrible. So simple and flat. The writing is good, but the art took whatever excitement for me. On the other hand, the art on the next chapters is quite better, and together with the story I end up wanting more. I have to give it to Grant Morrison. If they give him time and creativity control, he can make things happen (although it would be better if Dan Didio wouldn't make him re-write the end of Final Crisis). There's only 2 things I don't like about all this (besides the art on the first 3 issues): FIRST - I don't understand WHY Dick Grayson have to use electric knuckles every time he fights. SECOND: Seems to be now everybody knows Batman's secret identity. I liked the book as a whole, and I can't wait to check it all out now that lots of the beans has been spilled.

The reason I started reading Comics again
Format: Hardcover
This is the best comic book series I have read in a very long time. It will go down as a classic in the Batman Mythos. It should be on the top ten list when it comes to Batman tales. I was intrigued by the idea of Dick Grayson assuming the mantle and how he would interact with the new Robin Damien. What is really cool is the reversal of making Batman the light while Robin is the darkness in the partnership. I highly recommend it. This is an awesome set of stories. Read volume One first before you read this volume to see how it all comes together. When its all said it done it will amaze you.

Grant Morrison continues his mastery
Batman and Robin Volume 2 continues the story of Dick as Batman, Damian as Robin, replacing Bruce Wayne in Gotham after the events of Final Crisis (no spoilers here, despite the age). The artwork is clever, everchanging in style, and intricate; I find new details almost every time I re-read, it has such depth. I wrote an absolutely glowing recommendation for Volume 1, and this deserves similar praise, as does Volume 3 and The Return of Bruce Wayne. Highly recommend the entire arc
