Bloemen en vruchten

De Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' boom is rijkbloeiend met roze, geurende bloemen. De bloeiperiode loopt vanaf eind maart en in april. Heel fraai zijn de het bruinrood, purperen bladeren. Deze multistam Kerspruim cerasifera 'Nigra' draagt zelden donkerrode vruchten en heeft geen doorns. De vruchten smaken zuurder als een gewone pruim.

Waar neerzetten in de tuin?

De Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' die graag op een zonnige plek in de tuin staat. Deze bladverliezende multistam boom/heester is winterhard. Zorg voor een vruchtbare, vochthoudende bodem. Fraai als achtergrond van een vaste planten border of solitair in (het midden van) uw plantvakken. Uitstekend te combineren met Zegge 'Carex' en Leliegras 'Liriope' siergrassen of laagblijvende geraniums zoals Biokovo. Alle genoemde soorten zijn te bestellen in onze tuinplantenshop.

De volwassen hoogte is goed op circa 4-6 meter te houden door in de zomer lange scheuten weg te snoeien.
