Kokosbloesemsuiker is eigenlijk net zo gebruiksvriendelijk als gewone suiker. Het heeft bijna dezelfde zoete smaak en net als gewone suiker een lage smelttemperatuur en een hoge verbrandingstemperatuur. In alle recepten waarin suiker toegevoegd moet worden kan men deze dus in dezelfde gewichtsverhouding vervangen voor kokosbloesemsuiker.

Kokosbloesemsuiker heeft een lichte, zachte, aangename karamelsmaak en komt qua structuur het dichts in de buurt van ongeraffineerde, ruwe rietsuiker.
