Contra-indicaties
- Overgevoeligheid voor de werkzame stof of voor één van de in "Samenstelling" vermelde hulpstoffen.
- Gekende overgevoeligheid voor lokale anesthetica van het amide-type.
- XYLOCAINE 2% GEL (in tube): Overgevoeligheid voor methyl- en/of propylparahydroxybenzoaat (methyl-/propylparabeen), of voor hun metaboliet para-aminobenzoëzuur (PABA). Parabeenhoudende formuleringen van lidocaïne moeten vermeden worden bij patiënten die allergisch zijn voor lokale esteranesthetica of voor de metaboliet PABA.
- Shock of geleidingsblock voor XYLOCAINE 10%.
- XYLOCAINE 10% mag niet in de ogen worden verneveld. Indien dit ongewild toch gebeurt, moeten de ogen onmiddellijk overvloedig met water worden gespoeld.
- De zalf mag niet op geïnfecteerde letsels worden aangebracht.
