A 1.5625” diameter entry hole allows these birds passage into the nest box, and an additional pine block in front of this opening prevents predators from reaching inward and stealing eggs. The sloping roof generously overhangs this entry, keeping precipitation away from the interior, and gaps in the corners of the base provide drainage for captured water. Dual gaps below the roof lip ensure the home remains nicely ventilated, furthered by the light tone of the 0.75” thick, pine board construction.
