Vijfhonderd jaar geleden stierf de zon van planeet Faux. De meest kundige uitvinders van die tijd ontwierpen het Zielenlicht – een kunstmatige zon die teert op de zielen van twee reusachtige draken. De mensheid trok zich terug op het enige deel van Faux dat nog leefbaar was. Het leven ging door, floreerde.

Nu, eeuwen later, bekommert bijna niemand zich om het oprukkende ijs, om de afgenomen zielenvlammen. Als de wetenschapper Alyss haar zorgen met Aravin deelt, is hij dan ook geneigd ze weg te wuiven. Alyss laat het daar niet bij zitten en schuift haar onderzoeksresultaten onder zijn neus. Hij kan er niet omheen: de bevolking van Tranendal stevent op haar ondergang af.

Aravin ziet slechts één oplossing: ze moeten voor vervangende zielen zorgen. Dat brengt echter de nodige problemen met zich mee. Het is meer dan een eeuw geleden dat iemand een draak heeft gezien en de Ontzielers die in staat zijn hun ziel af te nemen, zijn al jaren geleden uitgeroeid. Er is nog slechts één Ontzieler in leven: Aravins voormalige beste vriend, die dankzij hem al vijf jaar in gevangenschap zit.

Samen met Alyss besluit hij Mart toch te bevrijden en de hulp in te schakelen van de monsterjager Fantoom. Of de twee bereid zijn om hem te helpen, is nog maar de vraag. Mart ziet hem liever dood dan levend en Fantoom heeft hem al eens beroofd van meer dan zijn bezittingen alleen…

MOOKA Air Purifier Rocks!

I put my Mooka Air Purifier through a very hard test running it 24 hours a day 7 days a week 30 days in a 275 sq ft area so I could provide an accurate review. My husband and I have a dog, woodburning stove, our 115-year-old is close to the road and there is a limestone quarry across the street; our house is extraordinarily dusty. We noticed an improvement the very first day using our Mooka! The nighttime setting is silent so I was able to use it all night. When we’re in the room, we use settings 1 or 2 and can watch TV. When we are out of the room, we use setting 3. Setting 3 can be loud but that is okay, I need that extra power and it does a fantastic job. My Mooka is lightweight, easy to use and a compact workhorse. Another fantastic feature is the highly effective, affordable replacement Hepa filters that have a washable foam pre-filter. I paid under $80 for our Mooka and it is worth every penny. We are ordering a second one. The proof is in our air quality at home. Tried to upload photos of the filter, but could not, sorry!
