Historical background:
The prototype is a light self-propelled anti tank gun developed by Rheinmetall in 1940 during World War II
Research and Development Objective: To meet the needs of airborne troops, a 5cm PaK 38 anti tank gun will be installed on the chassis of the Borgward VK3.02 armored ammunition transport vehicle, planned to be used as a light anti armor equipment for airborne troops.
Project outcome: The original plan was to produce 200 vehicles, but only 2 prototype vehicles were completed and tested by the troops in 1942. As the 5cm PaK 38 was no longer effective against Allied tanks, the project was ultimately cancelled and not deployed on a large scale.
