The Tree of Life design on its rump is a representation of harmony and balance in nature. The Tree of Life symbolized strength, a long life, wisdom, and rebirth. The Celts also believed that they actually came from trees, and considered them magical, living beings. Trees were said to guard the land and acted as a doorway into the spirit world.

Sailor's Knot design on its neck features two intertwined ropes and may have been created by sailors during their long voyages as a means of remembering their loved ones. The Sailor’s knot is symbolic of friendship, affection, harmony and love.
