THE STORY
This design actually began with an idea for an effect rather than with a specific drawing. I wanted to try a design with a pattern that was dense at the bottom of the shirt, and then spread out as it went upwards, at the same time as the ink shifted colour, hopefully creating a sort of ombré effect. The idea to make the pattern from plants and animals starting in the ocean, and then working up into the sky came afterwards. I must say though, I'm pretty happy with how it worked out!
THE SHIRT
Printed on a Heather Dusk Blue Women's Organic RPET T-shirt. (7.3oz 50% Recycled RPET Polyester / 50% Organic Cotton). This fabric feels great and so can you about wearing it. Yup, that polyester is made from recycled pop bottles.
SIZING
This is a pretty regular fitting Ladies shirt, with a bit of a scoop neck, shorter sleeves and a bit of curve through the body. Please refer to the size guide for measurements.
Heather is 5'9" and wearing a medium.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Because this shirt is 50% polyester, it will not shrink when put in the dryer! I use water-based inks for all my prints, which are great because they sink right into the fabric instead of sitting on the surface. So they won't crack or fade, but just get softer with each wash until you can't even feel them.
